General Description: Utilizes leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development of all students.
Requirements:
- Possesses a master’s degree from an approved program in school counseling or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university and completed an approved school guidance and counseling program
- Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in School Counseling through the Virginia Department of Education
- Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community.
