General Description: Utilizes leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development of all students.

Requirements:

  1. Possesses a master’s degree from an approved program in school counseling or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university and completed an approved school guidance and counseling program
  2. Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in School Counseling through the Virginia Department of Education
  3. Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community.
